It's amazing to me that Gary Williams can not compete in the same recruiting arena as Duke and North Carolina.

It's not amazing to me that Gary Williams regulary competes with and beats teams like Duke and North Carolina. Bashing his recruiting has gotten old, and is an easy excuse for people with little knowledge of college recruiting or, for that matter, college basketball. Gary has proven how great of a coach he is each and every year he has been at Maryland. Maryland is the only team in the ACC that has not had a losing record over the past 17 years, and yet people want to complain about Gary's recruiting. Rediculous!!

Big Terp is right. Debbie Yow is to blame for the recruiting woes for the basketball and football teams. The budget for UNC or Duke's basketball team is as much as the entire UofMD budget. If you have issues with recruiting, then contribute. Assistant coaches must be frugal with school visits and recruiting techniques. Also, as UNC and Duke can pitch being a 20 university with major endowments, that may attract the McDonald's All Americans and the top Football recruits. Maryland needs the support of the state to become a premier institution in academics, increase booster support, and fire Debbie Yow. She is also the person that banned the pep band from playing Rock and Roll, Part II! I am proud to say that I screamed the chorus in Atlanta for the Final Four, while the Hoosiers played "Jack and Diane" by John Mellencamp. Return the athletic department to the coaches Debbie and the craziness to the students! Make the other schools really FEAR THE HONU (Hawaiian for Turtle if anyone saw the Maui Classic.
