SHEPHERDSTOWN, W,Va. - A Shepherd University faculty member and a student were honored at the West Virginia Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Conference held in Flatwoods.

Dr. Andro Barnett, associate professor and chair of the Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sport, received the honor award from association president Joe Smith. Barnett was re-elected to the group's board of directors as the student adviser and as vice president for higher education.

Robert Group, of Greencastle, Pa., was presented the Bee N. Orr Outstanding student award. He is a senior majoring in physical education.

David Canada, of Frederick, Md., was selected as the student representative to the board of directors of the association. Canada, a junior majoring in physical education, will replace senior Kevin Reynolds, of Hagerstown, on the board.
