Hagerstown boy advances to next round of Bible Bee

HAGERSTOWN — One of the three area students participating in the National Bible Bee has advanced to the round of 20 in his age group.

Isaac Mulford, 8, of Hagerstown, a student at Shalom Christian Academy in Marion, Pa., made it through a rigorous first day Thursday at the Bible Bee to make it to the top 20 of the national contest, his father Mark Mulford.

Thursday’s action consisted of two oral rounds as well as a written test.

Isaac will compete in oral rounds this morning, and will learn around noon if he makes it to the top seven, Mark Mulford said.

The top seven will advance to the finals with that being webcast live at www.biblebee.org.

Also competing was Daniel Fierer, 13, of Williamsport and Tristan Prejean, 14, of Clear Spring.

Both boys fared well but did not advance into the final 20 in their age group. They were among about 100 students competing in their age group, according to previous published reports.

How sad that young children are encouraged to fill their heads with 2500 year old twaddle from stone age Middle Eastern tribes.
