BOONSBORO - Barbara Jean (Zimmerman) Glausier, 75, of Boonsboro, Md., passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2010.
Born Dec. 2, 1934, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Alfred C. Zimmerman and Jean (Shank) Zimmerman.
She was preceded in death by one son, R. Keith Glausier.
Barbara was a 1952 graduate of Boonsboro High School.
As well as being a homemaker, she was active in different organizations.
Barbara was a lifetime member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Boonsboro, where she served on the Altar Guild, taught Sunday school, and sang in the choir.
She was an active member of the Washington County Republican Club and worked as chief election judge in District 6.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Glausier; one son, Charles A. Glausier and wife, Janet, of Ashburn, Va.; one sister; Sara A. Sweeney and her husband, Robert, of Boonsboro; three grandchildren, Bradley, Kelley and Ashley Glausier, all of Ashburn; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph I. Donovan III officiating. Interment will follow in Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Clifford D. Kesselring Jr., 81, of 28 Reynolds Ave., Mont Alto, Pa., died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Quincy Village, where he was a resident for a short time. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, Pa. The service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.

Junior "Shorty" Arbine Russell, 88, of 404 Chartridge Drive, Hagerstown, Md., passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at Coffman Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born Saturday, Sept. 17, 1921, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Edwin Raymond Russell and Elsie Marie Lewis Russell.
He was a 1940 graduate of Hagerstown High School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and the European Theatre of Operations. He was a recipient of a diploma from the Consulat General de France, which was awarded to the American Veterans of World War II who liberated France.
He retired from The Herald-Mail Newspaper Co. in 1983 after 32 years of service.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and American Legion Morris Frock Post 42. He also enjoyed youth sports.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marlene Elizabeth Russell; two sons, Retired Col. J. Stephen Russell of Colbert, Wash., and Mark C. Russell of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Jay S. Russell, Sean M. Russell, Alison L. Russell and Meghan Russell; one niece; and several nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Lushbaugh Russell; two sons, John David Russell and Philip Michael Russell; and two brothers, Charles Russell and Edwin Raymond Russell Jr.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 224 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, MD 21740, with the Rev. George Limmer as celebrant. Inurnment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
The family requests the omission of flowers.

Mrs. Mary Belle (Lehman) Bakner, 90, a resident of Magnolias of Chambersburg, Pa., and formerly of Quincy Village and Hamilton Avenue, Waynesboro, Pa., passed away at 6:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at the nursing home.
Born Sept. 8, 1919, in Leitersburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Harry Lehman and Alice May (Myers) Lesher.
She spent her early life on various farms in the Leitersburg area, where she attended Leitersburg schools and Hagerstown Woodland Way School.
She proudly received her GED in 1968.
She and her husband, the late Carl R. Bakner, were married April 1, 1944. He died March 28, 1981.
She moved to Quincy Village in July 2008 and to Magnolias on Dec. 8, 2009.
In her early life, Mrs. Bakner was employed as a waitress at Trite's Restaurant in Waynesboro for several years. She later worked at Waynesboro Knitting Mill and Pangborn Corp., Hagerstown, Md., in the 1940s. After raising her family, she was employed in the meat department at the Acme Store in Waynesboro until the late 1950s, when she returned to Pangborn Corp., where she worked until her retirement in 1981.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, where she helped with the annual Easter Egg Project.
She was a member of South Chapter AARP 2977, where she volunteered with the "Kitchen Band" from its inception in 1997 until 2008, visiting retirement and nursing homes providing uplifting, "down-home" entertainment. She also traveled with the AARP on their many trips, visiting Hawaii, Phoenix, Ariz., Cape Cod, Mass., Branson, Mo., and Nashville, Tenn.
Mrs. Bakner is survived by her daughter, Wanda, and her husband, Dennis Carbaugh, of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Erin L. and her husband, Trayer Stoops, of Waynesboro, and Todd R. Carbaugh of Newville, Pa.; two great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Wesley Stoops; two sisters, Joyce C. Zullinger of Chambersburg and Shelva J. Barton of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Bakner, who died in 2004; two stepbrothers, Charles and Lamar; and a stepsister, Thelma.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with the Rev. Mark R. Shover officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mary Ellen Bohrer, 87, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs, which will be open from 2 to 8 p.m. The service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private in Greenway Cemetery.

Nancy Lee Bennett, 51, of Clear Spring, Md., passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Washington County Hospital from complications of pneumonia.
She was born Oct. 8, 1958, in Baltimore, Md.
She was the daughter of the late John and Mary Nicodemus Stevens.
On Oct. 17, 1981, she married her loving and devoted husband, John, and relocated to Clear Spring.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, John Bennett; three children, Autumn Marie Broadwater of Clear Spring, Laura Lee Bennett of Hagerstown and Richard Tyler Bennett of Clear Spring; one grandson, Eric Draven Broadwater; two sisters, Jackie Miller and husband, Tom, of Cresaptown, Md., and Shirley Stevens of Lonaconing, Md.; one niece; one nephew; several great-nieces and great-nephews; childhood friend, Cindy Bitner; and her two loyal pups, Ozzy and Rocko.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Md., with Pastor Robert Stone officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, Md.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

CLEAR SPRING, Md. - Richard Edward Seibert, 73, of 12229 Funkhouser Road in Clear Spring, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at his home.
Born Nov. 11, 1936, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Donald Seibert and Evelyn Semler Seibert.
He was a member of the Church of God of Lane's Run.
He was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School.
He previously was employed by Victor Hosiery and Gabriel's, and retired from Maryland Ribbon in the shipping department.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Paulette J. Mullen Seibert of Clear Spring; one daughter, Lisa Seibert, formerly of Hagerstown; one stepdaughter, Vonnie Faircloth of Warfordsburg, Pa.; two stepsons, Michael Chaney of Warfordsburg and Jeffrey Chaney of Williamsport, Md.; one brother, John Seibert of Hagerstown; three grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at Church of God of Lane's Run. Pastor Richard Fox will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

Ruth Ann LeMaster Dean, 57, of Martinsburg, W.Va., died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at her home. The family will receive friends Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. A memorial service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, Martinsburg. Private burial will be in Falling Waters Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Spring Mills, W.Va.
